1). Wayne worked at The Glenn L Martin Aircraft plant in Baltimore during World War ll. After the War he moved back to Wilkes County and worked at the North Wilkesboro Hardward store for Phillip Yates along with his father John T. Vannoy Sr, and his youngerbrother John T Vannoy, Jr. He and J. T. later along with Waynes s Son In Law Burl Lankford formed the Vannoy & Lankford Plumbing shop and operated it until his death in 1979. Wayne married Ruby Baker of N Wilkesboro on October 1, 1934. To this union was born two children. Marolyn, and Loretta Vannoy. Marolyn married Burl Lankford on July 4, 1954 at New Hope Baptist Church and lives at Purlear, near her Parent s and Grand Parents Home place. Loretta married Brent Eller on August 12, 1961 at New Hope Baptist Church and also lives at Purlear near her Parent s and Grand Parents home place.
