John Thomas Vannly Jr was born January 21, 1925 to John Thomas Vannoy Sr and Lora Watts Vannoy at Purlear, NC. John finished High School at Millers Creek School in 1942. He Married Ada Sue Lovette of North Wilkesboro , on April 5, 1943. To this union was born Charlotte, Vicki Sue, John T lll and Tina Vannoy. During World War ll, he worked at the Glenn L. Martin Aircraft Plant in Baltimore Maryland for serveral years. After returning to North Wilkesboro, he worked at the North Wilkesboro Hardware and later went into business with his Brother Wayne Vannoy and Burl Lankford who had married Waynes Daughter Marolyn. He was the bookeeper for the Firm of Vannoy & Lankford until he sold his interest to Burl Lankford in 1989 and retired. He was in and out of the Hospital several times in the 1980 s and 1990 s. He passed away on December 11, 1992.
