1). U, S. Army 1917 1918 WW II fought in France bobspu.ged Russell B Spurgeon. born Feb 20, 1896, died Jan 31, 1977 at the age of 80. Russell was a Frankfort, Indiana city fireman. Russell went into the U. S. Army in Sept 20, 1917, and was in several battles in France, including the Soisson, Aug 28, 1918, Sept 7, 1918, the Argonne, Sept 23, 1918, Nov 11, 1918.
