1). This David Reese 1709 1801 , born in Brecknoc, Wales, mov ed to North Carolina and was a signer of the famous Mecklen burg Declaration of Independence, at Charlotte, North Carol ina on May 20, 1775, and gave five sons to fight in the Rev olutionary War. In 1737, he married Susan Ruth Polk, grand daughter of Robert Polk of Maryland. Their childrenJame s Polk, Thomas, Catherine Ruth, David Tasker, Susan Polk, C harles, George, Mary Joanna, Solomon Trusten, and Ruth Eliz abeth.
2). Sir Robert de Pollock was born in Ireland in 1580. Sir Robert Polk Pollock, II  1606   son of Sir Robert de Po llock, married Annabel Stewart  abt. 1618 . Capt. Robert Bruce Polk Pollock  1640 1703 , son of Sir Rob ert and Anabel Polk, married Magdalen Tasker  1637 1726  wh o was the widow of his friend and companion in arms, Col. P orter, and daughter of Col. Tasker, Chancellor of Ireland . He served as a subaltern officer in the regiment of Col . Tasker in the Parliamentary Army against Charles I, and t ook an active part in the campaigns of Cromwell. He was th e founder of the Polk family in America, arriving in 1689 a nd settled on the eastern shore of Maryland. U.S. Presiden t James K. Polk descended from this line. Robert Polk, Jr.  1675 l727 , son of Capt. Robert Bruc e and Magdalen Polk, married Grace Catherine Guilette  1675 Susan Ruth Polk  1719 1800 , daughter of Robert and Grac e Guilette Polk, married David Reese  1709 1808   see OLDES T REESE FAMILIES   who was a signer of the famous Mecklenbu rg Declaration of Independence, at Charlotte, North Carolin a on May 20, 1775. Their children  James Polk, Thomas, Cath arine Ruth, David Tasker, Susan Polk, Charles, George, Mary , Joanna, Solomon Trusten, and Ruth Elizabeth.
