1). Obituary from the Greenville Mountaineer 5 January 1849 Died at his residence a few miles below Greenville C.H. ,verysuddenly on the 26th ult., Mr. John M. Cureton in the 66th year ofhisage. Mr. Cureton has left a widow and ten children and manyrelativesto lament his loss....The deceased was extensively known inthissection of the state, and has always been distinguished forintegrityof character and honest in all his dealings with hisfellowcitizens....Mr. Cureton was a consistent member of theBaptistChurch .
