NOTES
1). Arrived in America from Scotland, one of three McDONALDbrotherspurchased several thousand acres of land one mile northwest ofwhat isnow know as the small town of Richland, SC on the SouthernRailway. Alarge 2 story house with porches extending the entirelength of eachstory, and a connecting kitchen, was soon erected. Amassive chimneystood at each end of the dwelling. This being thelatter part of the18th century, the style was in keeping with thatperiod. Severalgenerations were born and reared in this home.
