SS No 364 05 7741 The following is from the biographical information prepared by Gretel Stiles Born October 4, 1895, in Nurnberg, Germany, of Christoph and Margrete Sendelbeck. Parents sent Karl to higher school college to be a teacher, but after a while rebelled and left to study art inspired by his half brother Friedrich who was an artist.Left home to become a house painter and decorator his lifetime profession at the age of 17. Notes of RAD I spent much of my time in my childhood with these grandparents in their home at 12316 Sorrento, Detroit, MI. That location is no a vacant lot. They had a single frame home with no basement. An oil fired furnace sat in the living room. The front yard had a variety of fruit trees, m favorite being the cherry tree. Along the north boundary out to the street wer superb purple grape vines, from which grandmother made grape jelly stored in mason jars, sealed on top with wax. Karl Sendelbeck was about 5 8 and perhaps 200 pounds was a wonderful grandfather, and warmly remembered.
