1). 18401.ged Died of gunshot wound. at Dallas Geo. James served as private in the same company Co H with his uncle Chesley. They entered the service at the same time in Sept. 1862. James was killed in action at Dallas, Georgia by a gunshot wound May 29, 1864. He left a widow, Nwerces Hinckle and four children, William Clinton 1856, James Wesley1857, Francis Marion 1861 and Wilburn Grant 1863.
