2). Research News Paper Cliping Ponca City News Thursday Feb 26, 1959 ONE HURT SERIOUSLY IN S. H. 11 CRASH BLACKWELL Six persons, two Medford women and four children, were injured when the car they were in crashed into a guard post and concrete culvert and overturned seven miles west of Blackwell on S.H. 11 about 5 15 p.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Don Winters, 29, Medford, was hospitalized at Blackwell General Hospital with a head injury. Her condition was reported as serious but was not believed to be critical. The children, who received cuts and bruises, were hopitalized overnight for observation only. Mrs Mildred G. Pasby, 20, Medford, driver of the car, received cuts and bruises but was nto admitted to the hospital. The women s children, Ronnie Pasby should have been Winters 4, Terry Dale Pasby, 2, Tammy Sue Pasby, six months and Rhonda Winters, 2, received minor cuts and bruises. Highway Patrolman John Bridwell said Mrs. Pasby was driving the 1956 Chevrolet west on S.H. 11 when the vehicle went of onto the north shoulder, hit the guard post and abutment and then flipped over one complete time, coming to a rest on its wheels. The women and some of the children were thrown from the vehicle. C. A. Hinkle, Route 2 Blackwell, said he and his wife were about a quarter mile behind the car when the accident occurred. I didn t see the car hit the post but I saw it in the air. Hinkle Said. They rushed to the aid of the injured and then other motorists stopped. Mrs. Psaby said she didn t know what happened to cause the crash. News Paper Clipping Ponca City News Monday March 2, 1959 MEDFORD WOMAN DIES OF INJURIES BLACKWELL A 29 year old Medford mother, Mrs. Don Winter, one of six injured when a car overturned seven miles west of here las Wednsday, died in the BlackwellGeneral Hospital at 12 40 a.m. today. She became Kay County s first traffic fatality of 1959. Mrs. Winter had been in serious condition at the hospital with head and other injuries since the accident. The other five injured, including Mrs. Winter s two children, had been released from the hospital after receiving treatment for cuts and bruises. They are Mrs. Mildred G. Pasby, 20, and her two infant children, Terry Dale and Tammy Sue Pasby. and Ronnie and Rhonda Winter, ages 4 and 2. The car in which they were in being driven west on S.H.11 by Mrs. Pasby, overturned after hitting a guard post and concrete abutment, Highway Patrolman John Briwell said.
