Married Sabina Elliott November 1, 1772. Planter, i n Charleston and on Wateree plantation. Justice of peace . S. C. House of Representatives, St. Philip s and St. Mich ael s, 1778 80. S. C. Senate, District between Broad and Ca tawba Rivers, 1784 86 Governor s Council, 1780. Commissio ner for clearing Wateree River, 1784. Member of Continenta l Congress, 1786 88 Elected to First and Second Congresses , serving March 4, 1789, to March 3, 1793. Member of Priv y Council. Died July 6, 1799, in Charleston buried in St .
