2). Hugh McMaster s widow, with her son John, came to this cou ntry in 1789, it is supposed, and first went to Abbeville C ounty, where her husband had owned lands, and had merchandi sed. She later moved to Fairfield County whither her forme r pastor the Rev. James McKinney lived and where he had a c ongregation. This Rev. McKinney had come over on the ship w ith Hugh McMaster, and had written the will of the latter.
