1). Jesse HARRISON Jesse was born Sept. 12, 1791 and farmed in South Carolin a where he married Elizabeth WILSON and had two children, I saac and Mary, before his first wife died . In 1825 he move d to Georgia to engage in gold mining and married Margare t HULSEY, daughter of Elijah and Sarah Naomi Choate HULSEY . The urge to study medicine prompted him to move to Ohio f or schooling and then to Tennessee to practice medicine. Ei ght children were born to them. The family settled in Sumne r Co., TN in 1831, later moving to Clarksville, in 1842 t o Nashville and then to Hickman Co., KY and finally to Obio n Co., TN. settling near Troy. He was very active in politi cs. Ca. 1859 Jesse Harrison, living in Obion Co., TN, was p laced in the guardianship of Wm. O. Smith, and later in th e guardianship of his son, Dr. John Bates Harrison, who pos ted a bond of $300 with the court.
