1). HUEY, Thomas Walker, Senator from Lancaster District Bor n November 27, 1798, in Jacksonham, near North Carolina lin e, the son of James Huey, who came from Ireland, and Jane W alker. Attended school at Tirzah Presbyterian Church, Unio n County, N. C. Planter and merchant in Jacksonham communit y partner in sawmill operation in Alabama and in Mississip pi. Married first, Martha Linn McMurray April 3, 1821 sec ond, Mrs. Margaret Sinthy Crocket Massey, widow of Willia m G. Massey, July 6, 1843. Tax collector of Lancaster Distr ict, 1837 44. S. C. Senate, Lancaster, 1844 48, 1852 54 di ed. Presidential elector, 1844, In S. C. Militia, acting co lonel of 47th Regiment. Member of Tirzah Presbyterian Churc h ruling elder for 20 years. Died at his home on Cane Cree k April 23, 1854, in office as Senator buried in Tirzah Pr esbyterian Churchyard, in North Carolina, about one mile north of his home.
