Thomas Sharp, Jr. about 1675 1749 came from Ireland whit her his ancestors had emigrated from Scotland to America be fore 1719, being one of the Scotch Irish influx arriving ab out that time. He settled in Cecil County, MD, and in 172 0 he and a few other settlers founded the Elk River Presbyt erian Church at Elk River, MD. The name of this church wa s later changed to Rock Church. He served as commissione r and elder here. Thomas married Isabella Wallis Wallace an d their children were Walter, Thomas, James, Hannah, Sarah , Joseph, and Samuel, and two daughters, names unknown.
