1). Elam Sharpe 1777 1851 , son of William and Catherine Rut h Sharpe, was born at Pendleton, SC. He married Elizabeth Betsey Miller, daughter of John C. Miller of Wales Englan d who was King s Printer and Publisher and was exiled fro m London, England on account of certain publications sai d to be the Junius letters which exposed the wrongdoing s of royalty. Elam and Betsey s children were William Osca r, Col. Elam, Dr. Edwin, Dr. Marcus LaFayette, and Elizabet h. Elam and Elizabeth Sharpe and John Miller are all burie d in the Old Stone Church Graveyard in Pendleton, South Carolina. Their home p lace located in Pendleton still stands in 1996 and has bee n kept in very good condition. Elam and Betsey s children w ere William Oscar, Col. Elam, Dr. Edwin, Dr. Marcus LaFaye tte and Elizabeth.
