1). Patrick Butler served 15 months with Virginia Troops unde r Captain Brown in 1781. He was discharged and sent home af ter the Battle of Guilford Courthouse. He later fought in t he Battle of Camden. Patrick was awarded a land grant in Wi lkes County Georgia headright for self and four in family . Book B, page 189, Wilkes County Records . He applied fo r a pension on 21 January, 1833 Pension S 31587, and th e last payment was made 1838 1839. He and Zacharia are buri ed beside each other near Fortsonia, Georgia.
