He also was a Revolutionary WarSoldier i n 17 7 3 . He obt ained the rank of Captain in 1761. He m arri e d in Branford , Mary Harrison. He was in command o f a co mp any n amed Mal tbie sCompany . His commander wa s a Col one l Newt on with wh om he was placed inservice a ll ye ti me o f the a larm for th e relief of Fort Willia m Henryan d part s adjacen t. Reference Colonial Records of Connecticut, 1757 17 6 1 , V o lume XXI, pp.578. During the Revolutionary War, Daniel Maltby was admi t t e d t o theCommittee of Safety of Branford. His son, Z ac he us , fo ught in theRevolution. Daniel Maltbie was a member of the committee for red r e s s o f Americangrievances. Daniel Maltbie later lived in Northford. His hou s e w a s o n the mainstreet in the city. He was one of t h e 20 f ou nder s of the First Church ofNorthford. The ch ur ch wa s inc orpor ated under the pastoral care of Rev.Wa rha m Will iams . Danie l Maltbie s occupation was that o f a s oldie r andfa rmer. O n 7 November 1771, Daniel Malt by wa s chose n Deaco n of theCo ngregational Church in Nor thford . A mem orial fu neral servi ce was heldfor Danie l Maltb y on 26 Oct ober, 177 6.
