Th e 1870 New York Census has the following i nformat ion Dwelling 89, Family 95 enumerated 13 June 1870. Maltby, Hiram 43, white, male Basketmaker, 1500 real es t a t e , born New York. Mary W., keeps house. Born in Wustrumburg, Germany mot h e r a nd father of foreign birth. Children Laura 9, Charles 8, Freddy 3, Francis 1. Phebe Bartholomew 74, female, white, living at hom e . B o r n New York. The Maltby Maltbie Genealogy gives his death as 1926, ho w e v er his grandson, Julius Maltbie wrote to me that t h i s i s i n error and that he died before his Julius bi rt h .
