2).  bobspu.ged  She was born the second girl in a family os seven children.  After having five boys, Fred and Lena were so delighted by the birth of another girl that they named her Delight.  Her fathers pet name for her was  Gipsy  because of the way she loved to wander as a child.  She earned a high school diploma Utica Free Academy before continuing her education at Crane Institute of Music in Pottsdam, where she received a Certificate of Music in 1933.
