Jenny later married Asa s 1st cousun Albert Al Spurgeon. When Asa left, he took all of the older children with him leaving the youngest with Jenny. The older children all grew up using the name Hendrix. Also Source Otis D Spurgeon, Roll VIII Asa only used the name Hendrix for awhile. I don t think he ever made a legal change. Flossie died in 1916 her death certificate list her name as Flossie Spurgeon. Asa took Alva, Edward, Opal with him to Dudly MO used the name Hendrix. Both Eddie and Alva returned to Indiana to join the Army WWI from their home state. Alva returned to Dudly after the war to marry his childhood sweetheart, Orion, and changed his name to Hendrix, because that was the name he was known by in Dudly. per his Sister Lorena Rena . Asa left Rena with his wife Jenny and they moved in with his sister Minerva and her husband Wil Epperson. Rena came West to find Asa when she and Bill Reagan were married.
