1). The State, 24 July, 1939 Dr. J .C. Foster Lai d to Rest At Tim monsville Timmonsville, July 23 Attended by friends from all part s of the state, funeral services for Dr. John Cantzon Foste r, prominent physician of Tampa, Fla., were held this after noon at Bird cemetery, Timmonsville, where the interment to ok place. The simple rites were conducted by two local mini sters, the Rev. C.S. Hornsby and the Rev. J.C. Inabinet . A mixed choir sang the hymns. Doctor Foster, a native of Lancaster and for 30 year s a surgeon of the Atlantic Coast Line, died here Saturda y while on a visit with Mrs. Foster to their daughter, Mrs . D.O. Holman. He was connected with many prominent South C arolina families and before moving to Tampa practiced medic ine in Lake City, where he was actively connected with th e Presbyterian church, of which he was an outstanding membe r. Beautiful flowers mantled his grave.
