NOTES
1). Thomas Mason was one of the pioneer Baptist preachers in S outh Carolina. He was one of the first to preach at the Edi sto Island Baptist church built by Hepzibah Jenkins Townsen d 1780 1847 .
2). Mary was disinherited when she married Thomas Mason, as h e was a Baptist preacher. She was later forgiven.
