2). Jane Margaret Scott, wife of Governor James H. Adams, wa s the daughter of Samuel and Jane Ross Scott who were marri ed October 8, 1808. Samuel Scott was the son of Joseph Scot t who married Margaret Dudley, descendant of Governor Dudle y of North Carolina. Jane Ross Scott was the daughter of Ja mes and Margaret Law Ross. The Ross family was Scotch. Low er Richland Planters by Laura Jervey Hopkins.
