William McDonald is mentioned in Weem s Life o f Marion as having red hair and being with Sgt Jasper at Fo rt Moultrie, assisting him in holding up the flag after Jas per was wounded. Is listed as a member of Captain Henry Lee s troops, 1st Regiment, Light Dragoons, Continental Troops.
