1). Colonel Elam Sharpe 1821 1888 son of Elam and Elizabet h Sharpe, married Frances Henrietta Hayne, daughter of Robe rt Y. Hayne who was a U.S. Senator, governor, lawyer, state sman of SC, was first a member of the SC State Legislature , then Speaker, then Attorney General of the State. Colone l Elam Sharpe was in the First South Carolina Cavalry, Hamp ton s Brigade in the Civil War and was wounded in action an d honorably discharged. He sold his Tamasee plantation an d other holdings in SC, and in 1871, he moved to Dallas, Te xas, where he became a Presbyterian minister. Colonel Ela m Sharpe and Frances Henrietta s children were Elam Hayne , Martha Ramsey, Henry Laurens, Frances Pinckney, and Willi am Alston and William Alston.
2). Frances Henrietta and Robert Hayne s daughter, Frances Hen rietta Hayne 1818 1875 , married Colonel Elam Sharpe 1821 1888 .
