1). Michael Kannarney came to America from Ireland as a youn g boy and settled in Elbert County, Georgia. He served in t he Confederate Army and was wounded. He enlisted in Compan y J, First Battalion, Local Troops, Georgia Infantry in Aug usta, and was assigned to the Government Foundry and Machin e Works until April, 1864.
