Colonel Charles Pinckney was many t imes a member of the Commons House of Assembly, a Justice i n the Commission of the Peace and held many important and d istinguished offices. Their 8 children were Charles bor n and died in same year , William, another Charles, Thomas , Mary, William Robert, Miles Brewton, and Rebecca. Charles and Frances Pinckney s son, Charles Pinckney 1757 1824 , married Mary Eleanor Laurens 1770 1794 , daughter o f Henry and Eleanor Ball Laurens. He was one of the fou r Delegates who represented South Carolina at the United St ates Constitutional Convention in 1787. He served four term s as governor of South Carolina.
