1). John M. Jack Joyce, 89, of Lancaster died Tuesday evening, Feb.13, 1996 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. He was born Nov.12, 1906 in Beetown Township, the only son of John and Addie Greaney Joyce. Jack attended Pleasant Ridge School, the first fully integrated school in Wisconsin, through the eighth grade, at which time he left to farm with his father. He married Anna Elizabeth Dressler on Oct. 11, 1927 in Lancaster. Together they farmed the homestead in Little Grant and Beetown Townships until 1984 when they retired to 721 Beetown Road in Lancaster. He was very proud of his Irish heritage, his family and valued the love and friendship of his extensive family, friends and acquaintances. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2820. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Anna three sons, Daniel Florentine , Lancaster, John Imelda , Willows, Calif., and Mark Laura , Bloomington seven daughters, Mary Joe Yager, Lancaster, Cecelia Stan Ellis, Cuba City, Kathleen Carl Timmerman, Cassville, Patricia PatrickHampton, Browntown, Therese Ron Evans, Dodgeville, Elizabeth Joyce Mark Patterson , Seattle Wash., and Joanne Joyce, Vallejo, Calif. 31 grandchildren 38 great grandchildren two great great grandchildren numerous step grandchildren and one sister, Elizabeth Gorman, Janesville. He was preceded in death by a sister his first son, Jerome three grandchildren and a great grandson. Funeral services were held on Friday, Feb. 16 at St. Clement Catholic Church with Fr. Tom Baxter officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Clement Church, or the charity of your choice. FATH John Joyce MOTH Addie Greaney
2). Anna Elizabeth Dressler Joyce, age 89, of Lancaster, died Friday, Feb 7, 1997 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. She was born April 6, 1907 in Grant County, the twin daughter of Herman and Alice Bell Dressler. She attended Hurricane Grade School and St. Mary s Academy in Prairie Du Chien. Upon the death of her mother during her second year at St. Mary s, she returned home to help her father care for the younger siblings. She married John Jack Joyce on Oct. 11, 1927 in Lancaster. Anna was a homemaker and the mother of 11 children. In 1984, Jack and Anna retired to 721 Beetown Road in Lancaster. She was a member of the Stitch and Chat Sewing Club of Little Grant Township, St. Mary s Altar Society of Bloomington, St. Clement Church and the Council of Catholic Women. Anna was proud of her family and valued the love and friendship of her extensive family, friends and acquaintances. Surviving are three sons, Daniel Florentine of Lancaster, John Imelda of Willows, Calif., and Mark Laura of Bloomington seven daughters, Mary Joe Yager of Lancaster, Cecelia Stan Ellis of Cuba City, Kathleen Carl Timmerman of Cassville, Patricia Patrick Hampton of Browntown, Therese Ron Evans of Dodgeville, Elizabeth Joyce Mark Patterson of Seattle, Wash., and Joanna Joyce of Vallejo, Calif., 31 grandchildren 39 great grandchildren two great great grandchildren one sister, Bernadine Pluemer of Tennyson one brother, Leo Dressler of Mt. Hope one half brother, John Dressler Niemer of Potosi and two half sisters, Donna Dressler Niemer Kartman Roger of Cassville and Diane Dressler Niemer Clancy David of Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Jackon Feb. 13, 1996 four brothers, Mike, Henry, Joe and Raymond Dressler her twin sister, Cecelia Sr. Bernetta her first son, Jerome three grandchildren and a great grandson. Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 10 at St. Clement Catholic Church with Fr. Tom Baxter officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. In lieu of plants and flowers memorials may be given to the charity of your choice. The Schwartz Funeral Home of Lancaster served the family.
