1). Michael Robert Schmitt Potosi Michael Robert Schmitt, age 30, of Potosi, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at The University of Iowa Hospital, in Iowa City. He was born Aug. 20, 1973, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Robert and DelRose Junk Schmitt. Michael married Tabetha Creasy at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson on Oct. 17, 1998. He enjoyed working and playing on his parents farm, and loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors with his sons. He was a Cub Scout leader for Pack 67 in Potosi, and he was an avid dirt track racing fan. He is survived by his wife, Tabetha Creasy Schmitt of Potositwo children Tyler Creasy Schmitt, and Nathaniel Schmitt, both of Potosi his mother DelRose Schmitt of Potosi two sisters, Sandra Fiance, Matt McKinney Schmitt of Jefferson City, Mo., and Shirley Brad Straka of Potosi a brother, Matthew special friend, Jennifer Vesperman Schmitt of Potosi his maternal grandmother, Elberta Engling of Dubuque, Iowa two nephews, Allen and Brian Straka, both of Potosi his father in law, Robert Creasy of Lancaster several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert a sister, Sherry Schmitt paternal grandparents, Matthew and Edna Schmitt maternal grandfather, Hubert Engling and his mother in law, Dorothy Creasy. Funeral services were held on Monday, March 29, at 11 AM at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson with Father Richard Leffler officiating. Burial was in St. Thomas Cemetery, Potosi. The Martin Page Funeral Home in Potosi assisted the family with arrangements.
