NOTES
1). Born 03 October 1814, in Grayson County, Virginia. Baptized 13November 1814, at St John s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wytheville, VA. Married to Nancy Lockhart, on 07 May 1836, in Tazewell County, VA, by William Henkel. Silas Chappell and family are in the 1840 census of Tazewell County.He last appears in the Tazewell County tax list of 1842, and was the lastof John Chappell s sons to emigrate to Missouri. He is listed in the1860, 1870, and 1880 census of Grundy County, Missouri. Silas Chappell died on 25 Nov 1881, his wife Nancy Lockhart died on 23 May 1865, and his son John C. Chappell died on 10 Jan 1862 age 23 .All three are buried in the George Peery family plot, accross the roadfrom the house built by Dr. Archibald Peery, now known as John Peery House,at Madison Township, Grundy County, Missouri.
