1). Most of the information on Red s descendants comes from Susan Claypole Williams. BIOGRAPHY Was nicknamed Red on account of his red hair, which he shared with his mother. Worked as electrician and farmer of crops, hay, cattle, and hogs. DEATH Topeka Capital Journal, May 10, 1984 DEATH Charles A. Red Claypole DEATH Charles A. Red Claypole, 57, Scranton, died late Tuesday, May 8, at a Topeka hospital. DEATH Mr. Claypole was an electrician. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. DEATH He was born Oct. 19, 1926, at Orrick, Mo., the son of William and May Jone s Claypole, and spent his early life in Missouri. DEATH Mr. Claypole was a member of Local No. 226 of the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in Topeka 26 years. He was a member of St. Patrick s Catholic Church at Scranton. DEATH He was married to Rose Mary Braun June 10, 1948, at Minot, N.D. She survives. DEATH Other survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Susan Williams and Mrs. Marilynn Holmes, both of Osage City, Corinne Claypole, Mrs. Marcia Seals and Mrs. Janice Griffiths, all of Topeka, and Mrs. Emily Bailey, Alvarado, Texas a son, Stan Claypole, Topeka a sister, Mrs. Jessie Corpening, Topeka two brothers, Bill Claypole, Plymouth sic , Calif., and Fred Claypole, Buffalo, Mo. and nine grandchildren. DEATH Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick s Catholic Church in Osage City. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery at Osage City. A parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the church. Memorial contributions maybe made to the Leukemia Society of America. Crable Funeral Chapel in Osage City is in charge of arrangements.
