1). bobspu.ged BIO Per William HEINLE, Big Valley Dave LAY was born in NORTH CAROLINA two examinations of the 1850 census clearly marked the place of birth recorded there as S.C. Compiler has used the SC until further evidence is found. On the 1850 census, there is a Jessee LAY household recorded on the 1850 census in the same 7th Subdivision. His age is given as 52 and his place of birth as TN. His wife, Sarah, was born in VA. Compiler questions whether this might be another son of Big Valley Dave. Compiler found a David LAY in Claiborne County, TN on the 1830 census. There was a male between the ages of 60 and 70, a male 15 20 probably Jack LAY, husband of Mary Pauline O DELL two females aged 60 70 and one 15 20 are also shown on this film. Compiler feels this is probably Big Valley Dave LAY s household. On the preceding page of this film there is a Lewis and a Thomas LAY. Thomas is the same age range as David Lewis is 30 40. Three pages after David LAY there is a Jesse LAY, 20 30. REF 1. U.S. Census 1850 TN 7th Subd. E.Dist. p ? 954954. MF 432 874. 2. Wm. J. HEINLE 219 E.
