Charles was enumerated as 24 years of age his occupation at that time was Laborer.He and Roda C. have two children, James, 2 and William 8 months of age. Also enumerated in the household, is Charles s sister in law, Mary LAY, 25 years of age. Per biographical notes provided to compiler by Eva McCARTY, Charles and Mary, who had a severe spinal deformity the result of a childhood injury produced a child. Mary and the child both died, but because of the ensuing scandal, Rhoda and Charles moved away from Campbell County, where Rhoda and Mary were born and raised. REF 1. Wm. J. HEINLE, 219 E.
