NOTES
2). Taylors and Leips.FTW Leip.ged Thelma Leip, her sister, says that Bonnie was a sickly, nervous child. She missed a year of school when she was in the fifth grade. It is possible that her middle name was Louzelle after one of her sister s close friends in college. Bonnie andJim went to Union City for their honeymoon. When they were first married they lived with Jim s Aunt Ella and Uncle Hardin. Aunt Ella was a sister of Jim s mother, and she agreed to raise Jim when his mother died and then his father moved to Detroit. Living with Jim s aunt and uncle was not easy for Bonnie. Aunt Ella tended to treat her more as a child than as an adult. After the war broke out in December of 1941 Jim went to Nashville to get a job. He worked for Vultee and built airplanes. The twin fuselage fighter P 38 was one of the planes he worked on. When Jim went to Nashville, Bonnie went to live with her brother and his family. She worked as a waitress in his restrurant for a few months until she could join Jim in Nashville. Bonnie worked for yearsas a Clerical Supervisor for a large department store, Cain Sloan.
