Boehm was obtained from the library of Nicholas Co., WV, a family h istory written by Betty Boehm Milner. See the following Berkley Jacob Boehm was born in a log house on Ford Run on Jan. 27, 1875, son of Henry Harris on and Sarah Mouser Boehm who were married Oct. 4, 1866. Henry died of typhoid in 1881 and S arah did in 1906. He had one brother, Enoch, and three sisters Viola who married John Fry e in 1890Anna Lea who married Stingley Francis Hoffman, Clerk of the Barbour Co. Court, i n 1913 and Mary Margaret who married Henry Ryan. He married Eva Hulderman Sept. 14, 1897 and had two sons Ralph Bliss, born July 10, 1898, di ed June 6, 1961 in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, married Edna White of Clarksburg in 1920 and Aubr ey Blair, born Jan. 26, 1901, a salesman for Richards Wilcox Hardware for over 30 years whe n he died in Richmond, Virginia Jan. 20, 1966, who married Bernice Price of Belington, and ha d one daughter, Janet Lee, who died young. He married secondly to Mary Ellen Kane in 1930 and had Betty, born Sept. 4, 1930, married Ja mes Adair Millner of Chicago, Illinois in 1958 Mary Margaret, born Nov. 1, 1933, married Cha rles Niver of Willard, Ohio in 1957 and Rose, born Nov. 20, 1934, married John Bernard Smit h of Wheeling in 1958. Berkley was custodian of the Barbour Co., courthouse from 1905 to 1929 Court Crier when Fed eral Court was held in Phillippi in the early 1900 s,by request of Judge Alston G. Dayton, an d a real estate dealer and builder in Phillippi for many yrs. He was a REPUBLICAN and membe r the Crim Memorial Methodist Church. He died Feb. 22, 1972 at the advanced age of 97. His maternal grandparents, Jacob and Margaret Markwood Mouser, were in Barbour by 1860, havin g lived previously in Randolph, Pendleton, and Rockingham Counties. His paternal grandparents, Jacob Stover and Margaret Orndorff Boehm, came to Barbour from She nandoah Co, VA in the early 1850 s accompanied by Jacob s brother, HARRISON and mother, ANNA . Jacob and Margaret, dau. of John and Elizabeth Peer Orndorff, were married March 4, 1840 a nd HARRISON and MARY ANN, dau. of JACOB and ELIZABETH SNARR PEER, on Sept. 21, 1843 by Hira m Myers of the Methodist Church. ANNA BOEHM, dau. of REUBEN and CATHARINA STOVER, dau. of JACOB STOVER brother of Peter Stov er, founder of Strasburg, VA. and Catharina Bowman dau. of Christian , married her first co usin, SAMUEL BOEHM, son of JACOB and MARY BURNER, dau. of JACOB BURNER, about 1810. Samuel d ied in 1848 and Anna after 1856 in Barbour. JACOB and REUBEN BOEHM were sons of SAMUEL and ELIZABETH BOEHM, pioneer Mennonite settler s of the Shenandoah Valley by 1740. Samuel arrived in America on October 27, 1738, lived nea r Luray, Va. for about 19 yrs., then moved to the 568 acre farm they had purchased near Stras burg. Samuel died in 1797 and Elizabeth in 1803.
