1). 1735328.ged BeamandWilson.FTW From the notes of M. Fenimore Individual Jacob settled on land now know as the Old County Infirmary Farm in Tyler County, West Virgini a. He had a cabin and a larger house remained there for may years. Jacobs will names his wif e Nancy and bequeaths property to daughter Rachel a Negro girl Cade, two beds and bedding one bureau two cows five sheep and two hogs to be given to her on the date o f her marriage or at the death of his wife. He also wished that at this wife s death, two Neg ro girls named Gin and Sally were to be set free. His son William was bequeathed a Negro boy named Sam to serve William as long as William and the said boy lived and then to be set free . Jacob mentioned his other children, Richard, Jacob Jr, Elizabeth, Mary, Delilah, Rachel, Ma rgaret, and the children of Cassa Bowman. The will was dated 1 Oct 1823 and was proved in Mar ch of 1824. Jacob signed his will Jacob D making his mark with aD . The witnesses to th e will were William Ankrom, Arthur Ingram, and Joseph Archer. Jacobs head stone, although bad ly worn, reads I Say Repent for Death is at Hand InMemory Jacob Ankrom SENR Died Oct 11 1823 bur. Across the road from Old Co Infirmary, near Middlebourne, WV. Sand stone marker still st ands. Jacob s will book 1 A page 83 Tyler Co, Will Book names his wife Nancy and devises persona l property to his daughter Rachel, a Negro girl Cade two beds and bedding one bureau tw o cows five sheep and two hogs to be given to her on the date of her marriage or at the dea th of his wife. He also wished that at his wife s death, two Negro girls, Gin and Sally b e set free. To his son William he gave a Negro boy, Sam, to serve him as long as William an d the said boy lived and then to be set free. He also mentions his children Richard Jacob J r Mary Elizabeth Delilah Margaret Rachel and Cassa Bowman s children. His will was dated October 1, 1823 and proved during the March term of court 1824.
