1). mytree.FTW Robert Emery was born and raised on a farm near Hampton, AR. He left home to find work as a treenager, going south to the Lousiana oilfields. he also worked as a blacksmith, a roller skating rink attendant in St. Smith, and various other jobs. IN 1909 or 1910, he visited his brother John Calvin in Okalahoma City, OK and went into business with John Calvin in the furniture business on California Street. Later, he opened his own store on Reno St., and then on May Avenue.
2). mytree.FTW Lillian s family moved to Little Rock, where she was educated. She was very musical and played the piano well. She went to work in Edward Cornish s bank as a secretary, which is where she met Robert Emery.
