2). mytree.FTW During Word War II, Liet. Gene Cornish served in the Mediterranean theater of war for at least 14 months. She was stationed with the 16th Evacuation Hospital in Italy, and was in the invasion of North Africa, and then followed it into Sicily, and onto Rome. While in Italy, she was given a rosary by the Pope.
