1). mytree.FTW David was a member of the Pennsylvania Legislature for a number of years and many of his descendants became prominent in various walks of life. He served as a Private in Company A , 2nd Battalion, York County PA Militia in 1778 and is shown on the muster rolls as David Cossart. The family of David became extensive farmers and influential citizens and took an active part in the Revolutionary Was. In April 1779, david was a member of the 6th Battalion, York County, PA Militia. After 1800, the family changed the name to Cassatt
