In the Barrle of Lake George as Ensign,(1755) in Col Ephraim Williams's(his brother's) regiment and was wounded in the abdomen in that engagement, while Col Ephraim Williams was killed. This Col Ephraim Williams was the founder of Williams College.
Dr. Thomas Williams, brother of Josiah, was also in the wars of 1744 and 1755, serving as surgeon then Colonel, and was at Fort William Henry on the day of the memorable battle at that place, and within three miles of the place where his brother Ephraim had just meen killed and Josiah seriously wounded.
