One source has him listed as being buried at Presbyterian Churchyard, James Island, SC, however this reliable source shows the Presbyterian Church on Edisto Island as the burial place. The monument reads: "Sacred To The Memory of Ephraim Mikell A native of this Island obit 23rd Of January 1838 Aged 64 years, 5 months ******************************* On the reverse side of above monument - "To the steadfast Christian who For many years as Elder of this church Set them the pattern of unaffected Piety and to The husband and parent who taught them by his example how to discharge with honor and justice the various relations of life This monument is erected by his family who highly revere his memory, and deeply deplore his loss."
