His will, dated Feb. 20, 1551 and pr ov e d O c t. 19, 1551, requests that he be buried at All H all ow s Pa ri sh, Stamford. Maurice served Constable of St amfo r d (1507 -8) , chamberlain (1508-9), member of the Se con d Tw elve (15 08-1 512, member of the First Twelve (151 2-15 51) , mayor (15 17-8 , 1538-9), and as a Member of Par liame nt f rom Stamfor d (152 3, 1529, 1536). He had intere sts i n bot h the mercant ile an d maritime trades, and liv ed i n All Ha llows Parish , Stamfor d, where he was assess ed fo r subsid y in 1546.
