He served as Captain unde r Sevier in the Towah campaign against the Cherokees and the Cre eks in 1792 adn 1793, and in 1794 he served in the Knox Regiment as an Ensign, Territory south of the Ohio, and apparently for y ears was Captain of the Militia at Rutledge, Grainger Co., Tenne ssee.
