BIO: Compiler first learned of the existence of Lydia (MARSHALL) KERLER from Wilma (MOW) FOLTZ, following a request for clarification of his childhood memories from Byron GILCHRIST, compiler's uncle. Byron had been confused about George KERLER's wife having been "Lydia MARSHALL," and the wife of George MARSHALL having also been "Lydia MARSHALL." Mrs. FOLTZ, whose mother was a sister to Lydia (O'BLENIS) MARSHALL, was able to provide the information that Lydia, wife of George KERLER had been "Lydia MARSHALL" before her marriage. Per the 1920 census enumeration (03 Jan. 1920), "Lydia KERLER" was 62 years of age. She reported that she was born in OHIO and both of her parents were emigrants from GERMANY.

The 1779 tax list of Lower Smithfield Twp of Monroe Co Pa shows him, as "Art Van Wye". His name is on the same page with Nicholas Depue, Ebneser Eirle, and Joseph Hetten, as well as Henry and Jacob Controman. The 1796 tax list of Middle Smithfield Twp of Monroe Co Pa shows Henry Van Why with 30 acres and also Charles Van Why; a Timothy Van Why was a school director in Middle Smithfield Twp in 1843-1848.

The 1761 tax of Lower Smithfield Twp shows both an Art Van Wye, and an Arthur Van Wey, singleman.

The Dansbury Diaries show Charles Van Wey lived along the Bushkill Creek, very near the village of Walpack, NJ, across the Delaware River. The 1748 map from this book shows Van Wye home on the north side of Bushkill Creek.

On 9 Jun 1754 Aert Van Wye and his wife Cornelia Kermer witnessed baptism of Charity Savin, daughter of Joseph Savin and his wife, Catharine Van Wye; Catherine likely was a sister of Aert.

An Arthur Van Wie was found on the list of taxables in Hanover Twp of Luzerne Co PA in 1796.

He could be the unnamed child of Hendrick Van Wye, christened at the RDC of Freehold/Middletown, in Monmouth Co NJ 3 Oct 1723.
