Greenville News, Jan 17, 1944 Obituary of W.A. Satterfield
Funeral services for William A. Satterfield, 66, for the past 21yearsa resident of this city, will be held Monday afternoon at 2o'clock atMackey mortuary, conducted by Rev. C.L. Norman. The bodywill be laidto rest on the family plot in Springwood Cemetary.
The following were requested to meet at the mortuary at 1:50 o'clocktoserve as active pallbearers: Ernest M. McDonald, Luke Austin,BobBaldwin, J.D. Smith, George Johnson, B.Y. Jordan, W.L. Rogers,andJohn Taylor.
Mr. Satterfield's death followed two years of declining health,withthree weeks of serious illness, and occurred at a local hospitalat2:15 o'clock Saturday afternoon. He was a native of Oconee county.
He is survived by his wife, five sons, three daughters, two brothers,two sisters, and five grandchildren. The family home being at 7EastPark Avenue.
Pending the hour of the service, the body is at the mortuary.
