Janie McConnell Meyers Thomas, 88 of 854 Dalton Road, died Friday, July 9, 1999 at Laurel Hill Nursing Center.
Born in Dacusville, A daughter of the late Drake and Janie Attaway McConnell, Mrs. Thomas retires from Monaghan Mill in Greenville and was a homemaker. She was a member of Jones Hill Church of God and the Ladies Sunday School Class.
Surviving are her husband, Clyde E. "Catfish" Thomas, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Hammond Leo and Linda Meyers and John Douglas and Peggy Meyers, all of Dacusville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Elizabeth McConnell and Louie and Frances McConnell, all of Dacusville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Maxie and Hilton Eades and Jean and Leon Moody, all of Dacusville; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Jones Hill Church ofGod with the Rev. Gordon Hager and the Rev. Paul Stephens officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John C. Meyers, Ben Sutherland, Tim McConnell, Clint McConnell, Dickie McConnell, and Roger McConnell. The escort of honor will be the Ladies Sunday School Class of Jones Hill Church of God.
