William Spencer Lawson was better known as Spencer Lawson. My information indicates that Spencer came to Georgia in 1853, as reported by his son William Turner Lawson. Spencer and William Turner both enlisted in the same company of the Georgia Infantry, Co, E,22nd Ga. Inf. Spencer was wounded in the head on July 2, 1863, captured at Gettysburg, He was admitted to West's Buildings Hospital, Baltimore, Md. on July 29, 1863and died there of wounds on September 5th or 6th, 1863. He was buried in Louden Park Cemetery, grave no. A-38 C.L.. Spencer was a farmer and he was an overseer in South Carolina.

July 13th, 2000 a Conferate Memmorial Stone In Memory of John Ledford Lawson was set in the Provencal Cemetery in the Lawson Family Plot. The State of Arkansas having lost the remains of John Ledford Lawson, after discussion with Lois Lawson Morris, I obtained a memorial from The Veteran's Administatration and installed it between His Wife's and Grandson's graves in the Family Plot. Born November 21, 1790, in St. Peter's Parish, the so n of Joseph Lawton, a lieutenant in the Revolutionary War , and Sarah Robert. Married Marta Mosse November 15, 1809 . During War of 1812, colonel. Planter at "Mulberry Grove " plantation; summer home "Transpine," now the village of P ineland. Tax collector, St. Peter's. Member of Nullificatio n Convention of 1832-33. S. C. Senate, St. Peter's, 1864-6 5. Trustee of Black Swamp Academy, 1818. Member of Baptis t Church; trustee of Furman Academy, at Winnsboro, 18353 or iginal incorporator of Furman University, at Greenville, 18 50; treasurer of State Baptist Convention. Died April 8, 18 78; buried at Robertville Cemetery, in what is now Jasper C ounty.
