M a h a l a (or possibly Mahalia) was operated on August 24 1 9 6 0 a t a ge 90 for a perforated ulcer at the Luthern Hos pi ta l i n Gra nd Island, Nebraska by Dr. Richard LaMay. S h e ret urne d to t he hospital on November 14, 1960 and w a s releas ed o n the 23 rd.
On June 3, 1964, Mahala and Sarah Augusta Wright mo v e d t o O maha, Nebraska. William Armstrong Wright and W il be r Wr igh t Carter helped them move. Four months late r W ilb er di ed . Services for Mahala were held at the Ma rc y Mort uary C hap el at Ashland, Nebraska Cemetery wer e sh e is bur ied. R ev . Inez Lacy officiated.
