1913 May 29: On May the 10th while Mr Jack M Looper was preparingtore-cover his barn the scaffold on which the men were working fellandseriously injured two men. Mr R J Hughes, age 50 years sustainedabroken leg and was otherwise considerably bruised. Mr H ALooperalso had his ankle broken and was bruised up. Dr W M Ponderwasquickly summoned and set the broken bones. Both men are restingwellat present. (Pickens Sentinel) 1913 Jun 26: H A Looper who had the misfortune of getting hislegbroken on May the 10th is still on his crutches, but we are gladtosay that he is improving.
