General Notes (Husband)



 Swanson Lunsford was born in Virginia and came to South Ca rolina during the American revolution as an officer in Colo nel "Lighthorse Harry" Lee's cavalry, known as Lee's Legion . He remained in South Carolina after the war, married th e much younger daughter of another revolutionary war figure , George Wade, and was prominent in the early days of the s tate capital, Columbia. He died only a year after the marri age, leaving an only child, Mary Lunsford. Swanson Lunsfor d is buried on the grounds of the South Carolina State Hous e.
